BEYOND THE POSES: ASHTANGA FOUNDATIONS
You know the poses. Now let’s go deeper.
Ashtanga is more than the poses. It’s breath. Count. Focus. Tradition. And learning to pay attention. Whether you’re completely new to Ashtanga or have been practicing for years, let's do this together. One breath. One movement. One count at a time.

Meet Your Teacher
Hi! I'm Rozel 🤍
I’ve been practicing and teaching Ashtanga Yoga for more than 25 years, and it has truly transformed my life inside and out. I have a deep love and respect for this practice, and my goal is to share it with others, in an accessible way, for all ages, bodies and abilities. Join me to discover what’s beyond the poses, understand the practice, and make yoga part of your life, inside and out.
Let's dive deeper together
Am I doing it right?
I’ve got you. Let’s slow it down and learn the details—the breath, the count, the transitions, and why we do what we do.
Am I really paying attention?
Let’s go beyond simply following the poses. Listen to the breath, feel the rhythm, learn the count, and start to notice what’s really happening in your practice.
I can’t stay consistent.
Let’s do this together. Quality over quantity. Step by step, I’ll help you build a practice that feels doable—and one you can keep coming back to.
This is where we begin to go deeper
Let's begin to pay closer attention. Listen to the breath. Learn the chant. Listen to the vinyasa counts. Slow down.
Let’s go back to the beginning.
There is so much to discover in something as familiar as a Sun Salutation. We’ll break it down together—movement, breath, count and rhythm—so you can begin to experience Ashtanga with greater awareness. You don’t need to know everything. You just need to be willing to pay attention.
“I always thought Ashtanga wasn’t for me… too intense, too advanced. But the way this is taught made everything finally make sense. I feel more confident, more grounded, and actually excited to practice.”
Serena, Montreal
“I had been following videos for years but still felt unsure. This is the first time someone actually explained what I was doing. It changed everything for me.”
Julie, Toronto
